All consultations are by appointment which can be made in person, online or by telephone between 08:00 and 18:30. Where possible the appointment will be with your own doctor.
There are four options available to you:
- 1 Week Ahead - These appointments are bookable one week in advance, to the day.
- Triage Appointments - The surgery operates a triage system between 08:00 and 11:00 daily, for those patients who require medical advice on the day. The receptionist will ask a few details about your call and place you on the doctors' triage list. This will assist the doctor with prioritising calls and offer an appointment if necessary. Please help us by being available for a return call. The doctor will respond that day. Calls are dealt with in order of priority.
- Telephone Consultations - These telephone appointments are pre-bookable for the GP of your choice.

It will sometimes be necessary for the doctor to ask for a chaperone to sit in on a medical examination. This is for the protection of both doctor and patient. A patient can request a chaperone to be present during their examination. Full details are held in the policies and procedures file available from reception.
Ringwood Medical Practice is registered as a training practice and supports newly qualified doctors under the supervision of Dr Rachel Barrass-Stones and Dr Kate Knight.
Dr Anne Wilson and Dr Alistair McHardy supervise our medical students from Southampton, Oxford, Brighton and Sussex Medical Schools.
Occasionally you will be asked if you would mind seeing your doctor with a medical student present. You are quite at liberty to decline if you would prefer to see your doctor alone.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to someone else.
