Download the NHS App, or open the NHS website in a web browser, to set up and log in to your NHS account. Owned and run by the NHS, your NHS account is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services online.
The NHS App is available on iOS and Android.
You can also access your NHS account using the NHS website.
To have an NHS account, you must be aged 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England.
To have an NHS account and use the NHS App or NHS website to access NHS services, you must be aged 13 or over and registered with an NHS GP surgery in England or the Isle of Man.
If you’re aged 13 to 15 years old
You may need to ask your surgery for access to GP online services if you do not already have this.
Getting a digital NHS COVID Pass
You must be 13 or over to get a digital NHS COVID Pass for travel abroad through your NHS account.

If you cannot set up an account, it may be because:
- You’re registered at a GP surgery outside of England or the Isle of Man
Contact your surgery to find out which online health services you can use.
- You’re a member of the armed forces, or are a veteran, service leaver or non-mobilised reservist
If you’re registered at a surgery provided by Defence Medical Services (DMS), you cannot currently have an NHS account to use the NHS App or NHS website to access NHS services.

Get an NHS COVID Pass
You can get a digital NHS COVID Pass online or by using the NHS App. You can download your NHS COVID Pass, print it, have it sent to you in an email or show it on your smartphone if you have one.
To get your NHS COVID Pass online or through the NHS App, you'll be asked to create an NHS login if you do not have one already.
You can also request an NHS COVID Pass online for a child aged 5 to 15 if you are their parent or legal guardian without needing NHS login.

Get an NHS COVID Pass in the NHS App
You can download and use the NHS App if you're aged 13 or over. You need to be registered with a GP in England or the Isle of Man to use the NHS App. You cannot use the NHS App if you live in Wales.
If you already use the NHS App, your NHS COVID Pass will be there when you log in.

Get an NHS COVID Pass online
- You can get your NHS COVID Pass online if you're aged 12 or over.
- You do not need to be registered with a GP.
- You do not need a smartphone or to download an app.
Get an NHS COVID Pass for a child
You can request an NHS COVID-19 Pass online for a child aged 5 to 15 if you are their parent or legal guardian.
Their NHS COVID Pass can be sent by email immediately if they:
- live in England or the Isle of Man
- have a mobile phone number or email address on their GP record – check with the GP surgery if you're not sure
NHS COVID Pass in other formats
You can ask for an NHS COVID Pass letter for travel to be sent by post, including for children aged 5 and over.
If you do, you can also ask for:
- an audio version
- a big print version
- a Braille version
