Repeat precriptions will normally be ready for collection four full working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) from your nominated local pharmacy, following your request arriving at the Surgery.

When placing an order for your repeat prescription you can nominate a Pharmacy of your choice, if you haven't already, which enables a GP or ANP to send prescriptions electronically to that Pharmacy.  This makes the prescibing and dispensing process more efficient and convenient for patients and staff.

Help with NHS costs

In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:

• those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
• those who are age exempt
• those with certain medical conditions

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Single Charge: £9.65

If you will need to pay for 3 or more prescription items in three months, or more than 10 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a Prescription Payment Certificate (PPC). 

• 3 Month PPC: £31.25
• 12 Month PPC: £111.60
